We are thrilled to share about a client who has been with us since 2007. Steven Caras is a former ballet dancer, renown ballet photographer, and speaker.
About Steven Caras
Steven Caras began ballet at age 15 and three years later was invited to dance at the New York City Ballet by the founder, renown choreographer, and artistic director, George Balanchine. He was granted unfettered access with his Olympus camera to all areas of the company’s activity. That began his second career as a ballet photographer.
His massive archive is filled with amazing captures that include Mr. Balanchine’s last bow photo, photos of famed dancers like Mikhail Baryshnikov, and many awe-inspired photos of dancers behind the scenes and in action during a performance.
His life captured the attention of renown filmmaker, Deborah Novak, who created the life documentary, “STEVEN CARAS: SEE THEM DANCE.” Covering Steven’s life from dancing to photographer, this documentary won its Emmy in 2012. We highly recommend watching it as a wonderful, emotion-moving film.
Currently, Steven can be found between New York City and all over Palm Beach County as a speaker, interviewer, and presenter. For over twenty years, he has been the leading lecturer and interview moderator at The Raymond F Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.
