Does a Webmaster Handle SEO, or Do I Need an SEO Agency?

TL;DR

  • It depends on which SEO you need. A webmaster can handle on-site SEO. Off-site SEO usually needs a specialist.
  • Webmaster For Hire works on on-site SEO. We’re not a full-service SEO agency.
  • We also handle task-based marketing like monthly blog posts and Google Business Profile updates.
  • No one can guarantee rankings. Search keeps changing, and the work has to change with it.

On-Site SEO vs. Off-Site SEO

SEO (search engine optimization) is the work of helping search engines find, understand, and rank your website. It comes in two parts:

  • On-site SEO – everything on your own website. Page titles, content, keywords, site structure, and making sure Google can find your pages.
  • Off-site SEO – work done away from your website, like earning links from other sites and building your reputation across the web.

What Webmaster For Hire Handles

  • Technical fixes that affect how Google sees your site, like sitemaps (a list of your pages that helps search engines find them). Search Console, Google’s free tool for site owners, lets us watch how Google sees your pages.
  • Google Analytics setup, so you can see who visits your site and what they do.
  • Task-based SEO and local marketing, like monthly blog posts and Google Business Profile updates. See How Does Monthly Blog Posting and Approval Work?
  • Keyword research. We pick keywords from research, and you can always suggest your own or ask for changes.

We don’t do off-site SEO. If you need it, you’ll want a dedicated SEO agency.

Why the Work Keeps Changing

Google regularly updates how it ranks sites, and AI tools are changing how people search. When search changes, the work has to change too. That can mean shifting a marketing package toward what search engines reward now.

When rankings shift after an update, everyone sees it. We adjust the work, and we’re straight with you about what no one can guarantee.

What Webmaster For Hire Recommends

  • Fix what Google can’t see. Problems like a broken sitemap can keep your pages out of search, fix “alt” tags, content fix recommendations, etc.
  • Balance the robot visits and the human visits. Write for people, and make it easy for search engines to understand.
  • Be wary of guaranteed rankings. Nobody controls Google.
