How to Send Website Change Requests to Your Webmaster

TL;DR

  • Send one list. An email or a document, with a link to each page you want changed.
  • Mark anything urgent. Everything else goes on our regular schedule.
  • Big decisions wait for you. Brand and design changes don’t happen without your go-ahead.
  • We confirm when it’s done, often with a short screen recording.

How to Send a Change Request

  • Make one list. Put your changes in one email or one document instead of a string of separate messages.
  • Link to each page. Copy the web address of the page you want changed and paste it next to the change.
  • Include the final text and images. See How to Send Large Photos, Videos, and Files to Your Webmaster
  • Mark emergencies. If something is urgent, say so. Put the word “Emergency” in the subject line of your email or text message. Otherwise it goes on the regular schedule.

You can send requests by email, text, or on a video call. On a retainer, your list also tells us how many hours your changes will take.

Will You Ask Before Publishing a Change?

  • Routine changes: we make the change you asked for, then confirm it’s done.
  • New sites and redesigns: we build on a development copy, so you review the site before it goes live.
  • Brand and design decisions: we lay out the full picture, including the cost, and wait for your go-ahead.

How We Keep You Updated

  • We check first when a request isn’t clear.
  • We ask for what’s missing. If we need a photo or text from you, we’ll send a list and follow up.
  • We confirm when it’s done, often with a short screen recording that shows the change.
  • Retainer clients hear about their hours, including when a request will go over.
