Q: I am totally new to building a website. How does the whole process work?

The process is easy and you are part of it every step of the way.

For custom designed websites, we’ll first have you research sites you like. We’ll have a recorded meeting to go over all your design requests. Within 6 to 8 business days, you’ll receive the homepage design in an image format. You’ll either love/approve one, like one with edit requests or request to re-meet to discuss how to create a fresh design. The process is repeated for the lower page design. Then the development processes begins. We will put the approved designs into code on our development servers. At this point, we will need your content to start building out the site. You may watch the site build in development. Once approved, we’ll make the site live.

For sites built with a premade theme, we’ll send you a list of ideal themes for your project. We’ll install the approved theme on our development servers. Q: How long does it take to have a website built?

Timelines for website builds vary. Time is based on how fast we get design approvals and content, how large the site is and any add-on development that is needed. Starter sites typically take up to two months after design approval.

Q: How does the payment process work?

Website payments are 50% – 25% – 25%. Half of the payment is due with signed contract, a quarter is due upon approval of the design or theme and the final quarter is due before the site goes live.

Q: Can you help me update my website’s content after it is built?

After a website is launched, you are able to add/edit/delete content yourself. However, many of our clients prefer not to due to time constraints. For those clients, we have various monthly retainer programs. These programs are easy to use. You simply email us the content to add with easy to understand instructions and we’ll update your site’s content for you.

Q: Can you help me write content for my website?

Yes, we offer both web page basic writing and SEO (keyword focused) writing services. Please ask us for a quote.

Q: Do I own my website?

In our contract, we assign copyright of your website to you upon receipt of final payment.

Q: How do I keep my site secure?

With most websites, they are built with a database (eCommerce, WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, etc… sites). This means they’re open to being hacked if they’re not updated regularly. Most every month there are updates. We offer a “Security Updates” package. This package includes manual monthly backups with structural and plug-in/module/extension updates by our programmers. We have our programmers do the updates in case a released update is buggy and we need to revert the update back. This is a monthly service that is paid on auto-bill via credit card.

Q: What is included with W4H’s Website Security Program?

Q: Will you host my website? What if I want to host it at another place?

We offer hosting for our clients. Servers include CloudFlare (CDN) and come with their own cPanel for full access to your hosting area. If you choose to use another hosting service, we are fully capable of working with most hosting services.
